If you are looking for an online trading account, it is worth shopping around. There are some very competitive accounts on the market today that offer free level 2 data, or no management charges, very low flat fee traders, or a comblination of everything. Some the more competitive, execution only, online trading accounts we have seen are:
- Ample Share Dealing online trading account. Offers £10 flat fee dealing for UK trades, includes free limit and stop loss orders, with no management fees or minimum balance required;
- TD Waterhouse offers a tiered account charge structure, meaning the more you trade the less you pay for your quarterly subscription. Offers £12.50 Flat Rate online trades, going down to £11.95 for frequent traders;
- Barclays Stockbrokers offers a range of accounts, including £7.50 a trade, for those trading more than 10 times a quarter; and
- etrade.co.uk with £9.95 flat-rate commission and free level II data for active traders - what more could you need.
